NOTE: Normally the salves cost $16.00. Price increases in the Summer for shipping (mid-May through September.) I have to put these in cold packed envelopes with ice packs otherwise the salves will melt. I can’t ship more than 1 or 2 day priority delivery in the summer since the ice packs won’t last. 2 day delivery is the Tri-state area and PA. Shipping may also be delayed if we are experiencing a heat wave.

Outdoor Ouchies Salve is for those nasty itches that are attributable from poison ivy, rashes and bug bites.

Um, we feel your pain. Farmer Anna is covered in rashes the whole summer. We think she eats this salve to help control the itching.

Why? Its main ingredient is Jewelweed, which is traditionally known as nature’s antidote to poison ivy. Many times, it grow right beside poison ivy. In addition, it contains plantain.

At the Naked Botanical Farm, it grows in our raspberry patch! So it is a blessing and somewhat of a pest.

The salve also helps with bug bites. We used it for bee stings. The herbs in the salve are very soothing to the skin.

It doesn’t work on yellow jacket stings. At least not for Farmer Anna. (And yes, she got stung once six times when harvesting one of my mints. (,Winching just thinking about it.,) Lavender was the only thing that helped.)

We only use fresh jewelweed when making our jewelweed herbal oil. It loses its effectiveness when it is dried.

You can also use this salve to heal cuts and scrapes too since the herbs in this salve are very healing as well.

The 2 ounce tin contains herb infused organic olive oil containing jewelweed and plantain, beeswax and organic cocoa butter. It has a medium consistency so it melts into your skin once your rub it in.

The tin can has a screw top for ease of use.

Do not keep the product in the sun or heat. The beeswax and cocoa butter will melt. Just in case life happens, simply put the salve back in the refrigerator to solidify the salve.

We don’t add any essential oils or scents to our salves. We learned from selling at the farmers’ markets that most people don’t like smells. There will be a slight smell of chocolate due to the addition of cocoa butter. We think that is a good thing especially if you love chocolate.

The salve can be used throughout the day. However, some of our customers have reported that using the salve at night has been very beneficial. Some also use it along with Boo Boo Spray for added benefit.
